Maintenance

Keeping Your Room Dividers In Top Condition

We take pride in the quality and durability of our room dividers.

To ensure your divider remains in excellent condition and retains its beauty, please follow the maintenance guidelines below.

General Care

Regular Cleaning

Dust your room divider regularly using a soft, dry cloth. For a more thorough clean, use a damp cloth with mild soapy water, and wipe dry immediately. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials as they can damage the finish.

Avoid Direct Sunlight

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the wood to fade or warp over time. Position your room divider away from direct sunlight or use curtains and blinds to minimise exposure.

Temperature and Humidity

Wood is sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. Keep your room divider in a stable environment to prevent expansion and contraction. Avoid placing it near heat sources such as radiators or air conditioning vents.

Specific Finish Care

Jacobean Dark Oak

To maintain the rich, dark finish of Jacobean Dark Oak, periodically apply a furniture polish suitable for dark woods. This will help preserve its luster and protect the surface.

Natural Danish Oil

Natural Danish Oil room dividers should be re-oiled every 6-12 months to maintain their appearance and protect the wood. Apply a thin coat of Danish oil with a soft cloth, allow it to penetrate, and then wipe off any excess.

Black Osmo Oil

For dividers finished with Black Osmo Oil, use a soft cloth to apply a maintenance wax that is compatible with Osmo finishes. This will help maintain the colour and provide an additional protective layer.

Adjustments and Repairs

Adjustable Feet

Adjustable feet on our dividers allow for easy leveling. If your floor/ceiling shifts over time, simply use the provided spanner to adjust the feet and ensure the divider remains stable.

Minor Repairs

For minor scratches or dents, use a touch-up pen or wax stick that matches the colour of your divider. Gently fill in the scratch or dent and buff with a soft cloth.

Long Term Care

Recoating

Over time, the finish on your room divider may wear. Depending on the finish, you may need to re-coat the divider to restore its appearance. Follow the specific care instructions for the finish type and apply the appropriate product as needed.

Professional Maintenance

If your room divider requires significant repair or re-finishing, consider contacting a professional furniture restorer. They can provide expert care to ensure your divider remains in top condition for years to come.
